Norway has excellent internet infrastructure with widespread fiber coverage. Major ISPs include Telenor, Altibox, Telia, and Lyse. Norwegian users benefit from great connectivity to European data centers with low latency. ISP DNS in Norway is generally reliable but may not keep up with public DNS providers in terms of speed.
Both Cloudflare and Google have excellent connectivity in Norway. OpenDNS is also popular among Norwegian users for its content filtering features.
Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) averages 3-6 ms from Oslo. Google DNS (8.8.8.8) averages 4-8 ms. Quad9 (9.9.9.9) averages 6-12 ms. Telenor default DNS averages 8-14 ms. Altibox DNS averages 10-16 ms. OpenDNS averages 10-18 ms. Cloudflare has a slight edge thanks to its Nordic PoPs.
On Telenor routers, log in to the admin panel and find DNS under WAN. Use Cloudflare (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1) or Google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). On Altibox, check Advanced Network settings. On Windows, change DNS in Network Settings.
Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) averages 3-6 ms from Oslo.
Telenor DNS is reliable but 5-10 ms slower than Cloudflare.
